Teesside NYE skids

What better way for a drift enthusiast to celebrate the new year than to spend it skidding.

Teesside offered us the choice to drift on two tracks, one being the west track which gave the drivers a more technical challenge and the National track more commonly used for it’s main events such as BDC and the newly NDC championships giving high speed entries and some very sideways action.

Luckily the weather was mostly on our side with just a light drizzle on occasion and mild temperatures of around 2-3 degrees, however this did result in some almost slow motion drifting and zero smoke being produced but myself and drivers wouldn’t want to be anywhere else right now.

This drift day also gave me my first opportunity to try out my new toy that I bought from Mark, Canon 70-200 f4 L …… I couldn’t wait.

So with that being said….. I give you NYE skids !

Ryan “coops” cooper and Mark littlefair mostly spent the day twinning with each other but Marks other half Louise also jumped in the RB25det powered s13 and gave it some big licks.

Another lovely sight as always is Darren’s Bmw e30 V8 sporting massive steering lock and plenty grunt

Sam holt turned up in his 454bhp s14 did some nice skids.

But one car stood out from the rest for me purely on its originality, the fact this is not a Nissan (except it’s engine) not even Japanese, yes it’s a German car but not a BMW like we see alot more of these days but a Mercedes-benz w201 !!

The drifting carried on into the night for a little while and one car also that stood out was Corey’s sierra, just looks soo good.

And as the darkness came it so did the cold and the difficulty to capture any worthwhile photos so my last photo was Coops amazing r33 skyline, being white helped alot.

Now I am looking forward to summer skids, lots of tyre smoke and banter with good friends.

Bye for now.
